(More customer reviews)was made aware of the Serengeti Salerno Sunglasses by my local high end optician in Noordwijk the Netherlands. I really liked the look of the Sunglasses and was impressed by the sturdy frame and the protection offered: UVA, UVB, and UVC......... only thing is they cost Euro 318=US$ 529.20 in the Netherlands......... So I thought I would be a smart consumer and order them via Amazon.com as I was travelling to the States this summer. I trusted the Amazon.com name and was very taken with the price they offered them for in comparison to what they would have cost me in Europe.
The sunglasses I received looked exactly right and felt and looked good.......... But I wasn't totally convinced as the difference in price was such that I took them to a reputable optician in Washington DC.......... To my surprise they told me that they didn't offer any protection from UVA, UVB, or UVC, and that they weren't polarized.........I realized I had purchased a cheap knockoff instead of the real deal, So I returned them the same day to Amazon.com. The only positive note to this order was that Amazon did refund my purchase in full.
