For those who aren't yet fans, here's an overview of my Serengeti experience.

I bought my first pair of Serengeti sunglasses for $99 from my Optician about four years ago.I'm a Deputy Sheriff and need a strong/light weight frame with a polarized lens.I was tired of paying $135 - $200 for polarized Oakleys or Maui Jims that seem to get scratched just sitting in their hard case.

When I saw the Serengetis, I figured "what the heck."They looked good, had a semi amber colored lens that created a vivid color spectrum, were polarized, and were about half the price of comparable sunglasses. So with nothing to lose, I put them to work.

I became less and less careful with them as the months and years went by as it seemed they were nearly indestructable.They were sat on, stepped on, smashed at the bottom of a gear bag and flexed repeatedly as I wrapped them around my fat melon dozens of times daily.

The lenses have only one major scratch in them that just showed up a couple months ago when I stepped on them in a gravel driveway. A month ago, the lenses finally gave in where they are attached to the nose piece, probably from the constant flexing.

Serengiti is by far the best kept secret in the sunglass world.
