(More customer reviews)I love my local eye doctor because it's the only store I've been to that's fully stocked with made-in-Italy (NOT China) shades and eyeglasses by Bulgari, Burberry, Gucci, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Chanel, and Judith Leiber. While buying a pair of DOLCE & GABBANA D&G 1146B 152 BROWN METAL EYEGLASSES, I fell instantly and madly in love with the Prada PR65IS sunglasses.

The PR65IS are large aviator shades that would probably look best on oval faces (the lenses are curved and very large). The arms are accented with Swarovski crystals: the gunmetal grey color features clear crystals, while the gold frames have gold crystals and the matte black frame has black crystals, which kind of dims the appeal. The gunmetal grey is a dark metallic graphite shade that reflects the light, and the crystals are shown off to their best advantage in this dark setting.

Despite the size of the lenses, they're not heavy at all, and are comfortable when worn for extended periods. Because they're aviators, the curved lenses hug your face and pretty much block out most light. The metal frames are light yet sturdy, with a barrel hinge and black plastic covers printed with "Prada" on the ends of the earpieces.

And the best part: you'll look (and feel) like a million bucks. They're unique and eyecatching without a surplus of bling (unlike, say, Ed Hardy sunglasses). You might find yourself pretending to be at Cannes, or maybe you'll come up with a callsign for your imaginary F-16 or Eurofighter Typhoon (flight suit not included!). Either way, these Pradas have star quality and are worth the splurge.
