I read a lot of reviews before buying and didnt find any that covered the laptop pocket that well. I was worried that there wasnt any padding on the bottom of the pack between the floor and the backpack. Glad to say that there is probably two inches of foam down there. The laptop feels very secure in there. The pack has a pocket for everything. The big pocket on the top holds my sony a100 DSLR with a 28-200mm lens attached. I'm a big guy 6' 300lb and it fits me well except for the chest strap which I never like to use anyway. They are removable.
